Morning markets at the pine forest behind the town

A friend suggested the pine forest behind the town months ago, and this week I finally went. Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the quiet weather much better.

Walking back, I found a side street I had never noticed before, lined with tiny workshops. Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring.

I underexposed most of the frames on purpose, to keep the mood quiet rather than bright. The light was quiet, and morning markets kept pulling my attention away from anything I had planned to photograph.

Most of the morning went into watching morning markets; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate. A light drizzle started around ten. I sheltered under a bus stop roof and photographed people hurrying past.

Next time I want to try the same walk at sunset.
