Long shadows and small boats
A friend suggested a lighthouse at the end of the spit months ago, and this week I finally went. The café near a lighthouse at the end of the spit still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research.
Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the cold and clear weather much better. Walking back, I found a side street I had never noticed before, lined with tiny workshops.
Most of the morning went into watching long shadows; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate. By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where long shadows were still undisturbed.
I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway. I sat on a bench for almost an hour, just watching small boats change as the clouds moved.
If you go, bring warm socks and a thermos — the café closes early.
