Snow tracks and rain on glass
I went to a lighthouse at the end of the spit with a phone and nothing else and no particular plan. Shooting with a phone and nothing else meant I had to get closer than I am used to, which was uncomfortable at first.
I underexposed most of the frames on purpose, to keep the mood cold and clear rather than bright. By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where snow tracks were still undisturbed.
I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway. An elderly couple asked me to take their picture. I used their phone, then made one frame of them on mine.
Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring. The light was cold and clear, and snow tracks kept pulling my attention away from anything I had planned to photograph.
The café near a lighthouse at the end of the spit still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research. I kept a paper notebook this time, writing down the time and the light for every roll.
The full set of photos will go into the archive once the film comes back from the lab.
