On stone walls

It has been a while since my last trip to the canal district. Most of the morning went into watching stone walls; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate.

The café near the canal district still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research. I sat on a bench for almost an hour, just watching long shadows change as the clouds moved.

I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway. There is something calming about returning to the same spot and noticing small changes since the last visit.

Nothing dramatic happened, and that was exactly the point.
