Notes from the salt marshes

The alarm went off before dawn, and by six I was already at the salt marshes. On the way home the train was nearly empty, so I reviewed the day's notes and planned the next trip.

There is something calming about returning to the same spot and noticing small changes since the last visit. Most of the morning went into watching old doors; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate.

The café near the salt marshes still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research. I kept a paper notebook this time, writing down the time and the light for every roll.

Next time I want to try the same walk at sunset.
