A morning at the salt marshes

Some places are better in the off-season, and the salt marshes is one of them. I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway.

The light was unhurried, and small boats kept pulling my attention away from anything I had planned to photograph. Walking back, I found a side street I had never noticed before, lined with tiny workshops.

By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where small boats were still undisturbed. Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the unhurried weather much better.

If you go, bring warm socks and a thermos — the café closes early.
