What stone walls taught me

I went to the canal district with a 35mm prime and no particular plan. The café near the canal district still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research.

Most of the morning went into watching stone walls; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate. There is something calming about returning to the same spot and noticing small changes since the last visit.

Shooting with a 35mm prime meant I had to get closer than I am used to, which was uncomfortable at first. Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the unhurried weather much better.

The full set of photos will go into the archive once the film comes back from the lab.
