Walking to a lighthouse at the end of the spit
It has been a while since my last trip to a lighthouse at the end of the spit. Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the soft weather much better.
Shooting with a phone and nothing else meant I had to get closer than I am used to, which was uncomfortable at first. A light drizzle started around ten. I sheltered under a bus stop roof and photographed people hurrying past.
Most of the morning went into watching footpaths; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate. On the way home the train was nearly empty, so I reviewed the day's notes and planned the next trip.
Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring. Working with a phone and nothing else forces you to slow down. You think twice before pressing the shutter, and that changes the pictures.
I will probably come back in a few weeks, when the season turns.
