Street corners at the botanical garden

It has been a while since my last trip to the botanical garden. The light was cold and clear, and street corners kept pulling my attention away from anything I had planned to photograph.

I sat on a bench for almost an hour, just watching window light change as the clouds moved. The café near the botanical garden still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research.

The path was muddy and longer than the map suggested, but the view at the end made up for it. On the way home the train was nearly empty, so I reviewed the day's notes and planned the next trip.

A light drizzle started around ten. I sheltered under a bus stop roof and photographed people hurrying past. An elderly couple asked me to take their picture. I used their phone, then made one frame of them on mine.

I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway. By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where street corners were still undisturbed.

Next time I want to try the same walk at sunset.
