Slow afternoon at a frozen bay
The alarm went off before dawn, and by six I was already at a frozen bay. Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring.
I kept a paper notebook this time, writing down the time and the light for every roll. By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where long shadows were still undisturbed.
An elderly couple asked me to take their picture. I used their phone, then made one frame of them on mine. On the way home the train was nearly empty, so I reviewed the day's notes and planned the next trip.
Nothing dramatic happened, and that was exactly the point.
