Slow afternoon at a fishing village on the coast

The forecast promised rain, so naturally I headed to a fishing village on the coast. I underexposed most of the frames on purpose, to keep the mood soft rather than bright.

There is something calming about returning to the same spot and noticing small changes since the last visit. Most of the morning went into watching harbour cranes; I took fewer frames than usual, but each one felt deliberate.

Halfway through I switched to black and white, which suited the soft weather much better. The light was soft, and harbour cranes kept pulling my attention away from anything I had planned to photograph.

If you go, bring warm socks and a thermos — the café closes early.
