Notes from the pine forest behind the town
The forecast promised rain, so naturally I headed to the pine forest behind the town. Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring.
The path was muddy and longer than the map suggested, but the view at the end made up for it. The café near the pine forest behind the town still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research.
I tried a few long exposures, but the wind had other ideas. The handheld shots turned out better anyway. I sat on a bench for almost an hour, just watching street corners change as the clouds moved.
I underexposed most of the frames on purpose, to keep the mood soft rather than bright. By noon the crowds arrived, so I walked further along the path, where snow tracks were still undisturbed.
Nothing dramatic happened, and that was exactly the point.
