Back to a mountain hut above the treeline
The forecast promised rain, so naturally I headed to a mountain hut above the treeline. Shooting with a pocket camera meant I had to get closer than I am used to, which was uncomfortable at first.
The café near a mountain hut above the treeline still serves the same cinnamon buns; I had two and pretended it was research. An elderly couple asked me to take their picture. I used their phone, then made one frame of them on mine.
There is something calming about returning to the same spot and noticing small changes since the last visit. Locals barely noticed me. A man feeding gulls told me the place looks completely different in spring.
I kept a paper notebook this time, writing down the time and the light for every roll. I underexposed most of the frames on purpose, to keep the mood windy rather than bright.
The full set of photos will go into the archive once the film comes back from the lab.
